Stephen Spoonamore: "...but if my candidate loses, I care more about the PROCESS than I care about the victory."
Israel 'annexes' West Bank areas
B'Tselem says the annexations more than doubled the size of settlements
Israel has annexed thousands of hectares of West Bank land beside the barrier it is building, according to an Israeli rights group.
B'Tselem says the land has been taken with the justification that it is needed to protect Israeli settlements.
The group says some settlements have seized up to two and a half times more land than they have been designated by fencing it off or through intimidation.
Under international law the settlements in the West Bank are illegal.
This is disputed by Israel, which has settled about 450,000 people in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
Israel argues that its West Bank barrier is a security measure intended to stop suicide bombers, though Palestinians see the barrier as a means to grab land.
The International Court of Justice issued an advisory ruling in 2004 that the barrier breached international law where it is built on occupied territory and should be dismantled.
'Access denied'
B'Tselem calculates that the annexation of the land has more than doubled the size of the settlements, with Palestinians, who still own the land, denied access.
The objective of these zones is to provide warning of an attack on a community, providing enough time to respond
Israel Defense Forces
Guide to the West Bank barrier
It says that the unofficial closing off of land to Palestinians, around these settlements, has been going on for 30 years.
But what has been happening more recently is the Israeli military formalising the expansion of these settlements through what are called "special security areas".
The group has calculated that this has more than doubled the overall area of the settlements.
Palestinians, despite privately owning half the land, now have no access to it.
The Israeli authorities argue that these measures are for security, to protect against Palestinian attacks, and that they need only be temporary.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement to the BBC that the security zones were needed to protect settlements. The IDF said the use of these zones had been approved a number of times by the Israeli Supreme Court and any building in them was illegal.
But B'Tselem insists that the security argument is specious: they say that settlers often move into the designated security buffer zones.
They also argue that it makes the agreed goal of a future Palestinian state all the more difficult to reach

The Israeli Attack on the USS Liberty

Loss of Liberty
The Israeli Attack on the USS Liberty
Getting away with murder
Would the US allow its citizens to be attacked and killed by a foreign power and then cover up the facts?
It would - and it has.
On June 8th, 1967, the Israeli military attacked and attempted to sink the USS Liberty as she sailed under a US flag in international waters. Thirty-four US servicemen were killed and 171 injured by a well-coordinated, multi-wave assault which included the use of napalm.
The Israeli military called the attack a "tragic mistake" and then-President Lyndon Johnson agreed it was nothing more. Sailors who were aboard the ship were warned not to disclose the facts of what happened that day under penalty of court martial - or worse.
"False Flag" Attack to Make a Killing on the Spec Market
http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/articles/20080906_16
Prior to the 9/11 attacks, insider trading "put options" were placed on United and American Airlines stocks. The speculative options on United were placed between September 6 and 7, 2001 and on American on September 10 at the Chicago Board of Options Exchange. Put options are bets that a stock will fall in value and the owner has the option of selling the stock at a lower rate and sell them at the highest rate, thus earning a quick windfall profit. The put options on the two airlines' stock was reportedly six times higher than normal. Other unusual "put option" activity was registered with three European re-insurance firms, Germany Re, Swiss Re, AXA of France, in addition to World Trade Center occupant Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.
There was a previous attempt to use a "false flag" terrorist attack to manipulate international markets to earn a quick profit. According to The Washington Post, two individuals, Jay Aubrey Elliott and Rolf Dunbier, were once arrested in New York for planning to blow up the Kafue River bridge in Zambia, the only bridge servicing Zambia's Copperbelt Province. At the same time, Violet Elliott, Elliott's wife; Efraim Ronen, Benjamin Edoui, Yitzhak Markovitch, and Raphael Tseriano were arrested in Tel Aviv by Israeli police after the Shin Bet, Israel's security service, and the FBI discovered the plan to blow up the Zambian bridge in order to drive up the world's copper prices. Jay Elliott had earlier visited Tel Aviv to sign up explosive experts to blow up the Zambian bridge. Law enforcement authorities in Zambia and the United States were tipped off about the plan.
Jay Elliott and Dunbier were charged with violating the federal Neutrality Act, which forbids American citizens and foreigners in the United States from waging war against nations with which the United States is at peace. The act has been used only rarely by the federal government, having in the past charged U.S. citizens and nationals with conspiring to commit acts of war against Haiti and Laos. No action was taken against right-wing conspirators who used U.S. soil to plan and carry out military action against Cuba and Nicaragua.
Although the conspiracy by Israeli and American nationals against Zambia's railway bridge appear to have come from recent headlines, the story was published in The Washington Post on November 9, 1966.
The Mossad was never officially implicated in the planned attack on Zambia but the Israeli intelligence agency conducted a number of "false flag" attacks before and after 1966.
In 1954, Israeli Defense Minister Pinhas Lavon secretly organized a terrorist attack on the U.S. Information Service library in Cairo, Egypt that would be conducted so the Americans would blame the Egyptian government of Gamal Abdel Nasser. In November 1968, King Hussein of Jordan discovered that Israel was behind the Kateb al Nasr commando group that attacked the U.S. embassy in Amman with the deaths of 29 civilians and security personnel. Israel was hoping to cause the United States to blame Jordan for the attack.
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, also known as "Carlos the Jackal," maintained that it was the Mossad that killed two French police agents and a Lebanese informant in 1975. The two policemen, Raymond Dous and Jean Donatini, and the Lebanese informant, Michel Moukharbal, were investigating a terrorist attack on El Al Airlines at Orly Airport. "Carlos" said Mossad was trying to frame him for the murders.
In 1986, Libyan Information Minister Mohamed Sharafeddin said that Mossad agents were conducting terrorist attacks in western Europe against U.S. targets so that Libya would be blamed. He said that Israel was hoping that the U.S. Sixth Fleet would strike Libya in retaliation.
Israeli intelligence agents, some masquerading as "furniture movers," were seen celebrating the 9/11 attacks in New Jersey and New York, some dressed in Arab garb. Pointing to the fact that Shin Bet no longer cooperates with western law enforcement, as it did in the 1966 caper in Zambia, Bell said that Shin Bet agents, using Canadian passports, conducted false flag operations in Gaza in 2002 and Jordan in 1997. The Jordanian operation resulted in Canada withdrawing its ambassador from Tel Aviv. The 1997 affair saw Mossad agents masquerading as Canadians poison Hamas leader Khaled Meshal in Amman. When King Hussein threatened retaliation for the incident, Israel was forced to provide the antidote to save Meshal's life.
In 1991, Mossad covered its tracks in arming and training a group of Libyan guerrillas in Chad who were trying to toppled Muammar Qaddafi, the Mossad arranged for Saudi Arabia to finance the operation. It was not the first nor the last time that Mossad and the Saudis cooperated on a false flag venture as witnessed by the events of 9/11.
In 1997, a senior Mossad agent responsible for monitoring Syria, Yehuda Gil, was found to be sending false reports hyping the Syrian "threat." These were passed by then-Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to Washington and Israel's Lobby operating in the U.S. capital. It was also discovered that Gil was keeping money allocated by a Syrian agent for Mossad in Damascus long after the Syrian agent had died.
A classified CIA document on the Mossad captured by Iranian militants who took over the U.S. embassy in Tehran in 1979 and later published in full outlined Mossad's activities around the world, including "false flag" tactics and the blackmailing of U.S. officials. Former Mossad chief Isser Harel denounced the CIA's report and said it was similar to the 19th-century anti-Semitic work, "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion."

Seed Saving and the Importance of Growing Heirlooms
http://blog.oregonlive.com/homesandgardens/2008/08/save_your_seeds.html
Seed saving is economical. It's easy. It's what humans have done summer after summer, year after year, century after century.
Seeds take little storage space. One shoebox in a cool, dry place will hold your garden-in-waiting. Next spring, watch them come alive again in your garden and give some to friends to sow in their gardens, too.
Here's how:
PREPARE
• Stop deadheading flowers or harvesting vegetables to allow seedpods to form. Expect your garden to look a little untidy.
• Save seed only from standard or open-pollinated varieties. For vegetables, designate one plant of each variety for seed saving and harvest the rest.
COLLECT
Dry seed: Let seedpods dry on stalks. They will turn yellow or brown. Collect pods. In a bucket, break them open. Separate the seed from the chaff.
Wet seed: Throw tomatoes whole into a bucket. Scoop out innards of squash, melons, peppers and eggplant and throw them in a bucket. Add a little water and let them rot for several days. The flesh will separate from the seed and rise to the top. Viable seed will fall to the bottom. Pour out old water and then rinse the seed; pour it on a screen to dry. Once dry, rinse it again.
STORE
• Place clean, dry seed in paper bags, envelopes or glass jars. Baby food jars work well. Lightweight plastic bags are not moisture-proof and aren't recommended. Moisture is a seed's worst enemy.
• Label containers and keep in a cool, dry spot, 55 to 60 degrees, such as a closet in an unheated bedroom.
• Next spring, get sowing.

Why it Matters to Buy Heirloom Plants and Seeds
by Annie B.
Bond
http://www. care2. com/greenliving/why-buy-heirloom-plants-seeds. html
The loss of genetic seed diversity facing us today may lead to a catastrophe far beyond our imagining. The Irish potato famine, which led to the death or displacement of two and a half million people in the 1840s, is an example of what can happen when farmers rely on only a few plant species as crop cornerstones.
One blight wiped out the single potato type that came from deep in the Andes mountains; it did not have the necessary resistance. If the Irish had planted different varieties of potatoes, one type would have most likely resisted the blight.
We can help save heirloom seeds by learning how to buy and save these genetically diverse jewels ourselves.
ABOUT SEEDS
One kind of seed, called First generation hybrids (F1 hybrids), have been hand-pollinated, and are patented, often sterile, genetically identical within food types, and sold from multinational seed companies.
A second kind of seeds are genetically engineered. Bioengineered seeds are fast contaminating the global seed supply on a wholesale level, and threatening the purity of seeds everywhere. The DNA of the plant has been changed. A cold water fish gene could be spliced into a tomato to make the plant more resistant to frost, for example.
A third kind of seeds are called heirloom or open-pollinated, genetically diverse jewels that have been passed on from generation to generation.
With heirloom seeds there are 10,000 varieties of apples, compared to the very few F1 hyprid apple types.
The Mayan word “gene” means “spiral of life.” The genes in heirloom seeds give life to our future. Unless the 100 million backyard gardeners and organic farmers keep these seeds alive, they will disappear altogether. This is truly an instance where one person–a lone gardener in a backyard vegetable garden–can potentially make all the difference in the world.
Here are two sources for finding heirloom seeds from seed saving organizations. These organizations represent a movement of several thousand backyard gardeners who are searching the countryside for endangered vegetables, fruits and grains.
The Seed Savers Exchange
The Seed Savers Exchange (SSE), is a non-profit tax-exempt organization that is saving old-time food crops from extinction.
Kent and Diane Whealy founded SSE in 1975 after an elderly, terminally ill relative bestowed three kinds of garden seeds brought from Bavaria four generations earlier.
The Whealys began searching for other “heirloom varieties” (seeds passed down from generation to generation) and soon discovered a vast, little-known genetic treasure.
SSE’s members are maintaining thousands of heirloom varieties, traditional Indian crops, garden varieties of the Mennonite and Amish, vegetables dropped from all seed catalogs and outstanding foreign varieties. Each year hundreds of members use SSE’s publications to distribute such seeds to ensure their survival.
Each winter SSE publishes a 304-page Seed Savers Yearbook which contains names and addresses of 900 members and 6,000 listings of rare vegetable and fruit varieties that they are offering to other gardeners. Seeds are obtained by writing directly to the members who are listing those varieties.

Native seeds/SEARCH
Native seeds/SEARCH (NS/S) is a non-profit seed conservation organization working to preserve the traditional native crops of the U.S. Southwest and Northwest Mexico. For centuries Native American farmers have grown corn, squash, beans and other crops under a variety of growing conditions.
NS/S encourages the continued use of these plants in their native habitats, and also distributes them widely to home gardeners, researchers and free of charge to Native American farmers. Wild relatives of crops–such as wild beans, chiles, gourds and cotton–are included in Native Seeds/SEARCH’s conservation efforts.
NS/S’s informative annual seed catalog lists more than 200 varieties for sale. Each crop listing includes seed saving information as well as culture and folklore.

L.A. gives Israeli operatives unfettered access to LAX
http://www.wakeupfromyourslumber.com/node/7951
Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa signs LAX "anti-terror" agreement with Israeli Zionists
Los Angeles, Alta California - June 16, 2008 - (ACN) Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa signed an agreement during his trip to Israel that greatly endangers the security of all Angelenos and of travellers who utilize the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The agreement signed on Friday will allow right-wing Israeli Likud Party operatives complete access to all areas of the LAX under the pretext of making "expert" periodic reviews of anti-terrorist measures at the world's fifth busiest airport. The agreement also calls for city taxpayers to pay three Israelis $1000.00 each per day plus all travel, lodging and other expenses while making "security" inspections at the LAX....
Damn, LA, what's with this? Has all of that smog affected your memory? Erased words like 9/11 and Huntleigh?
Let's refresh that memory about Huntleigh, as posted by AZTLAN
The security at Boston's Logan Airport during the terror attack of 911 was under the control of Huntleigh USA which is a wholly owned subsidiary of an Israeli company called International Consultants on Targeted Security (ICTS) that is run by "former Israeli military commanding officers and veterans of government intelligence and security agencies"
There are today an increasing number of Americans who are convinced that 911 was an inside job carried out by USA Neocons in collaboration with the Israeli MOSSAD and the criminal Likud Party. Americans who do not believe the conclusions of the "US 9/11 Commission Report" include university professors, physicists, engineers, and many other professionals. There is now a large very credible body of evidence that proves that 911 was in fact an inside job. These intelligent and patriotic Americans are today demanding an independent re-investigation of the 911 terror attacks. They say that 911 was engineered in order to justify the war against Iraq and to benefit Zionists here and in Israel..
This is the type of "security" you're wanting to provide to Los Angeles? Gotta a death wish or something?
Mr. Mayor, why not do a little checking on these "security" experts before you hand over the keys to LAX, it looks like you've got the contacts..
Take one, a certain Nahum Liss, who is currently director of security planning, control and projects for the Israel Airport Authority at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport. Do a search of Nahum and you'll find he's a ghost in the machine, like if he had no life before taking the Ben Gurion job, which means this guy is probably mobbed up with either Israel's internal security service, the Shin Bet or their external intelligence organization/hot bed of assassins called the MOSSAD..
But there is one small reference to Nahum. Seems like Nahum was present at one of those "attacks" against Israeli's.
Here's Nahum own words:
"I was sitting about 30 meters away when a terrorist
blew himself up, along with one of the women doing a security check," Liss recalled, his ordinarily booming voice growing quiet..
Uhh, Nahum, given Israel's propensity for setting off false-flags to make the murderer the victim, when that person blew up, you weren't holding any kind of device in your paws, were you?
Considering that LAX has already had several security studies done that pointed out what needed to be done at LAX, why is Los Angeles letting Israeli "security" ops roam at will thru LAX?
One was issued in 2004, the year after Villaraigosa was elected to the City Council, and the other was issued in 2006, the year after Villaraigosa was elected Mayor
The second Rand Corporation reported notes Villaraigosa's failure to implement the recommendations made in the first report:
"In Stevens et al. (2004), we found that the key to a successful strategy of deterrence against an unpredictable enemy is to understand and reduce LAX's vulnerabilities and the potential consequences of an attack, making it a less attractive target. The airport is vulnerable in a number of ways but particularly to large truck bombs, luggage bombs, and curbside car bombs. Two steps, relatively easy and cost-effective to implement, could mitigate the risks from all three of these threats..
"1. Reduce the probability of the success of the bombers by adding permanent vehicle checkpoints at the entrances to LAX..
"2. Reduce potential consequences at LAX by reducing crowds on the sidewalks and inside terminals..
"One reason that reducing the crowds at the terminals is more cost effective than adding security film to the glass is that reducing the crowds mitigates the potential consequences from car bombs, luggage bombs, and suicide bombers, while applying film to the glass is only effective (if properly applied) against car bombs. We stand by our 2004 conclusions.."
So, Mr.
Mayor, just why are you letting MOSSAD ops roam freely about your airport?
